Legendary Comics Announces Matt Wagner & Simon Bisley, Paul Pope Projects [Update]

Big news out of the Legendary Comics panel at San Diego today:Legendary Comics Announces Matt Wagner & Simon Bisley, Paul Pope Projects [Update]

Today the Legendary Comics panel at San Diego Comic-Con unveiled that the company will publish two exciting new projects from esteemed artists, Paul Pope and Matt Wagner.

Paul Pope's art book, PULPHOPE, will feature more than 200 pages of Pope's career retrospective and includes many never before seen pieces. Past projects from Pope include BATMAN: YEAR 100, Liquid and 100%. The book is scheduled for release this holiday season.

THE TOWER CHRONICLES, from GRENDEL and MAGE creator Matt Wagner, and developed with Legendary's Chairman and CEO Thomas Tull, is a supernatural action/adventure that tells the story of a bounty hunter with a hidden past. John Tower and his team of high-tech mercenaries are all that stand between civilians and things that go "bump" in the night.

Legendary Comics Editor-in-Chief, Bob Schreck stated: "We are thrilled to be working with Pope and Wagner on these upcoming projects for Legendary Comics. Just as our film division works with the best-in-class talent and filmmakers to produce content for the fandom demographic, so too will Legendary Comics move forward on our mandate to publish works from the best in the industry."

Pope and Wagner were surprise guests at the Legendary Comics inaugural panel and were on-site to speak to fans directly about their upcoming projects.

Rich adds: Spilling out of the Legendary Comics panel at San Diego Comic Con, Matt Wagner is writing The Tower Chronicles with Simon Bisley doing full art for release next spring/summer, about a supernatural bounty hunter with a secret.

And Paul Pope will be releasing Art Of Paul Pope through the new publisher, 100 pages long with sixteen new pages, for this winter…
