Saturday Runaround – Islam, Racism, Politics And Dallas

MuslimWatch: "The focus here is on an interview she gave to a British-owned site called Bleeding Cool about a year ago, a site that's mostly junk, IMHO."

Well, that's abviously a way to get on our good side. The site, Infidel Bloggers Alliance is a rabidly pro-Israel, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim site. And the writer seems to prefer CBR anyway. ANyway, Wilson is a Muslim convert, something the site condemns.

In Wilson's case, it's clear that if her family disrespected religion to the point of where they'd make no effort to provide a proper education on it, then that could suggest how Wilson fell for it. And, it's a disgrace that someone like this is being given jobs in comics and graphic novels.

RacistWatch: DCWomenKickingAss debate the Flashpoint Map

"As a black male its more offensive to me seeing people call this racist. Gorillas natural habitat is in Africa, Gorilla City is in Africa, and in a place where gorillas are mutilated and poached and slaughtered its nice to see gorillas not being mutilated and slaughtered. As a black person who has experienced "actual" racism that was "actually" meant to be offensive this is nothing , we all know that in no way was DC trying to be offensive(but to be honest people get offended by everything these days)and in no way were they trying to call Africans apes."

Saturday Runaround – Islam, Racism, Politics And DallasConWatch: Dallas Comic Con is on this weekend. Anyone going fancy reporting back? Watch out for the 3pm Bernie Wightson/Steve Niles panel, and make sure to ask about Frankenstein Alive, Alive! And tomorrow at 1pm, Stan Lee talking to John Romita, Jr… someone film it and upload!

PoliticsWatch: CNN looks at the five top political comic books. with Paul Gravett picking his top five. I have to say, the choices are a little tame, I'd have included the Tintin left-wing libertarianism mashup, Breaking Free, the Christic Institute's Brought To Light, The Montgomery Story that sparked the Civil Rights movement in the US in the sixties and is doing the same in the Middle East today. And possibly even book like AARGH in the way they mobilised an industry to a political cause.

But hey, what about DC Universe: Decisions and Action Comics #900???

MAUREEN DOWD: TV tries degrading women so confused men feel better – Sacramento Politics – California Politics | Sacramento Bee

"Wonder Woman," a David E. Kelley redo of the campy '70s Lynda Carter show, was so embarrassingly breast-centric that NBC executives used the Lasso of Truth to strangle it.

Galbraith said library officials are hoping the video game collection will be as popular as a graphic novel collection launched in January 2011.
