Scanning today's top headlines, it struck me how comics' devotion to its origins has so often taken us into strange territory. But 75+ years is literally a lifetime ago, and our founding creators could not have planned for where their ink and newsprint has taken us. If Detective Comics #27 and Action Comics #1 are our constitution, then Crisis and Zero Hour (and so on) are the amendments. Geoff Johns is the current chief justice, interpreting what all that precedent is supposed to mean to us today. Well. Anyway…
