Just days ahead of its premiere at Cannes, the marketing materials for Lars von Trier‘s science fiction parable Melancholia are starting to come out of the woodwork.
Well, at least, it looks like a parable, and Von Trier has told us more than a few of those before, so I’d be surprised if it isn’t another. Either way, it will be welcomed by me when it releases in the UK this Autumn.
Below you can see a rather instructive clip from the film, one that pitches out a central character conflict in a nice, clear way; and a featurette on the film’s digital FX shots. And – what the heck – I’ll even toss in the NSFW TV ad, even though there’s nothing in it that wasn’t in the trailer.
