First Footage From The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Shows Off A Moody Ape

The 20th Century Fox zookeepers have let slip the The Rise of the Planet of the Apes apes.*

It’s a WETA FX gig, so you know it’s going to look good – and they’ve even got a track record in, very specifically, digitally-rendered simians performed by Andy Serkis. They were on home turf all the way.

Here’s the clip.

And now it’s over. So brief.

You might have thought it looked familiar, too.

We’re promised more on Wednesday, including a behind-the-scenes reveal of how the apes are being created. That will go live at 14:30 (though in which time zone isn’t clear) on the Avatar Facebook page.

*I like this sentence because it has two occurrences of me using the same word twice consecutively. It’s the main reason I wrote it, and to heck with the fact that they’re officially just starting on the word Rise.
