It’s going to be a hard day to avoid spoilers, I think, on one book in particular. Retailers (and of course, BC readers) were buzzing about this like crazy yesterday. But it’s another good week in comics, there’s Nonplayer, Fear Itself, Brightest Day, and a bunch more. And I see Rich has some great reviews planned for morning, but before that, let’s catchup:
Most-Read Comic Stories Today:
After all, DC are not like Marvel. They don’t like to spoil their big comics news stories in the local rags a few days previously, they like you to get a big surprise by picking up the comic, on the stands and then flicking to the last page. That’s tradition.
Now Marvel have announced a new series, Captain America And Bucky, taking over the numbering from Captain America, by Ed Brubaker , Marc Andreyko and Chris Samnee.
On Saturday, a copy of Butcher Baker The Righteous Maker #1 by Joe Casey and Mike Huddleston from Image Comics sold for $26 on eBay, three days after it was published at $2.99. Quite a remarkable market jump, though by yesterday copies were selling for closer to $20.
Most-Read TV/Film Stories Today:
When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened. So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.
From the 7-11 on Market St, nearest Moscone South & the Marriott in San Francisco… this Destroyer promotional item for Thor, The Movie…
Here are the opening minutes of Sucker Punch complete with my video commentary. I really do feel quite passionately about this film, and if you’re sitting on the fence about buying a ticket, I would like to encourage you.

This Week’s #Comicmarket Tuesday Trends
Every tuesday, a bunch of retailers and pros get together to talk shop as sort of a prelude to Comic Day. Of course, under the current distro arrangement most retailers get some lead time to prep for the big day — which means they necessarily also get a day’s jump on what they think looks good for the week. It should be no surprise to BC readers that Nonplayer was the big buzz of the day, I even noted a few shops helping each other out to make sure they had copies for their customers. Fear Itself is regarded as the monster of the week, but most felt Brightest Day would be most talked-about after the dust settles.
