Director Tom Hooper Not Happy About Possible Recut Of The King's Speech

The King's Speech was one of the best films to be released last year. If you told me to rank my favorites, it would surely be in my top three. While this is certainly no place for a review, suffice to say I found the film masterful. I can't think of a single scene that could (or should) be cut for any reason, but The Weinstein Company thinks otherwise.

It has been known for a while now that Harvey Weinstein has considered cutting out the swear words in The King's Speech to abolish the R rating and get a PG-13 in America, but according to Inside Movies, director Tom Hooper does not support it, putting it plain and simple by saying, "I'm not going to cut the film."

Of course, that doesn't mean it won't get cut anyway. He can do it or somebody else can, but if Weinstein wants it done that badly, I'm sure he can make it happen.
