Mark Webber to Write and Star, Alongside His Toddler Son, in a Film About His Life

Kate Atherton writes for Bleeding Cool:

Best known to many as Stephen Stills, frontman of Sex Bob-omb in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Mark Webber is now to turn his own life experiences into a film that he will write, direct and star in, all for under $1 million. The film, not yet titled, will describe the experiences of a young father, an actor, who must raise his toddler son alone after the death of the boy's mother.

The project will strike even closer to home. Webber has revealed to Hollywood Reporter that the son will be played by his own child and, in order to protect the toddler from a less than typical childhood experience, Webber will do almost all of the work himself, in front of and behind the camera. All of which will no doubt also keep the costs down.

However, the Webber family will not be the only faces on show. Fellow Sex Bob-omb member Michael Cera as well as friends Amanda Seyfried, Shannyn Sossamon and Jason Ritter will feature as 'heightened versions' of themselves. I'm assuming that doesn't just mean tall.

The film is being produced by Weber's own company Poor Rich Kids and is currently in production in Los Angeles.

This is not the first time Mark Webber has penned a film. He has just returned from Sundance where he has been publicising The Lie for which he wrote the screenplay and appeared in the role of Tank.
