Friday Runaround – The Wrong Dave Gibbons

Friday Runaround – The Wrong Dave GibbonsTweetWatch: Pete Woods: I drew a panel today for Action 900- when I finished it I realized I totally swiped a cover I drew back in 1996. Don't tell @richjohnston

WriteWatch: JG Jones will be writing Doc Savage from April – this is part of a movement that Bleeding Cool previously noted where DC are keeping artists by giving them the opportunity to write.

MadWatch: SpiderDan does anything a spider can, I guess. Including going to court for scaling buildings in San Francisco in a Spidey suit.

"We have a fundamental right to protest, but with those rights come responsibility"

GIJoeWatch: Everything changes at GI Joe in the comics. Because some one is dead. For now.

Seriously, folks.

TweetWatch2: Mark Millar discovers Follow Friday.

It's Follow Friday so check out: @kapowcomiccon @thehitchfactory @davegibbons @jimmycarr

Ah, that might have been the wrong Dave Gibbons. Follow @davegibbons90 instead as that dude looks very unfamiliar.

How Much Money Can a Good Comic Book Artist Make? | eHow.com

Many factors go into determining a comic book artist's salary. If the artist is the writer, he may receive more money. However, the major difference in salary is the popularity of the comic book. According to the business journal "Portfolio," top artists can earn approximately $1,000 per page of artwork. Best-selling comic books are typically released monthly and are usually 22 pages. So, a top yearly salary can reach $264,000, though "Portfolio" indicates a cap at around $250,000 a year for top artists.

JH Williams III on Batwoman Delay

"The book was also never to launch in November either. The zero issue which came out at that time was never in the original plans, but was done as a bit of a reminder as requested by DC, and to set the stage, this of course took out time of the work already in progress. February had been decided on the launch date by the company with reservations about that from me. I felt that was a bit too soon in a realistic look at work progression. One of the reasons for this was that I had been seriously committed to making appearances around the world over this past year. I think maybe 3 months or more of work loss occurred during that time. I kept trying to point this out whenever discussions about schedule came up. When first discussing the launch date earlier last year we had originally wanted April 2011, and now ironically that is what we have. Only after solicits stating otherwise, causing some unnecessary frustrations. Added to this mix I was being asked to do covers for Batman Inc., which I was concerned about considering the schedule for Batwoman, this quickly added to the problem of not being able to launch in February. So I thought it best to bow out of the Batman Inc. project."

The Batman Nightclub 'Wayne Manor' Revealed in 1966 'Life' Magazine Article

The article itself was printed in the typically tilted Batman '66 style, and while they somehow managed to refrain from a headline involving the words Biff and Pow, they inexplicably keep the tilt around for the following pages, where a play about the Marquis de Sade was lumped in with Superman, Batman and MAD as another example of how the entire country's gone crazy for over-the-top characters.
