Marvel Pick Their Writer For Black Panther Movie

While Mark Bailey’s roots appear to be in documentary filmmaking, he has recently made some movies into fiction films. Last summer, for example, it was announced that Doug Liman would direct The Last of the Tribe from a script by Bailey (adapted, as it happens, from a non-fiction book by Monte Reel). It would seem Bailey made the transition smoothly, as Marvel have now tapped him to write their Black Panther movie.

From THR:

The Black Panther first appeared in the pages of the Fantastic Four comic in 1966 and is considered the first black hero in mainstream comics… the king of a resource-rich fictional African country who becomes a super hero.

Which, in short, means there’s going to be a Black Panther movie. Well, probably. Let the T’Challa casting speculation and suggestions begin.
