Time To Lose The Geek Fat

Time To Lose The Geek FatBloody hell.

Before I started working at home, I was a relatively svelt 85 kilos (187 pounds). Overweight, sure, but not too much.

As of last night I an 98 kilos (216 pounds).

A relatively sedentary lifestyle combined with late night sugary snacks to keep me awake and writing probably hasn't been the best combination.

So. I have a problem. And a self imposed deadline.

Can I get back to my original weight, even down to the 80 kilos (176 pounds) I need to be for a BMI of 25… by San Diego? Can I drop 30 kilos (66 pounds) in the time? A third of my body weight?

Probably not.

But at least it gives me an unrealistic target to aim for. Kind of how you put the oven on high in the belief it will increase the heat faster, and then whack it back to medium when it's not looking, laughing in its confused oven face.

So, it's on. Slim Fast, salads, Wii Fit and going to bed at midnight. Every runaround will now include my weight. Feel free to bet on me…
