Digital Manga Guild

Welcome to the Digital Manga Guild, presented by Digital Manga, Inc. We are looking for groups and individuals to help us revolutionize the way we make manga. If you can translate from Japanese to English or a different language, edit a script or letter, then we want you! No party — Digital Manga, Inc., the Japanese publishers, or you (the localizers) — will get paid until a sales transaction is made. That means, we are all in this together!

I work for a major comic book publisher. AMA : comics

Started out as one of the nerdy loners hanging out at a local shop after school, then became an employee, then a manager of a store in college, finally worked my way up to getting hired on at a publisher. I don’t want to promote one company over another, so please keep the questions open to the industry as a whole.

Viz Media Releases Free Viz Manga App for the iPad

In a move that should delight fans of Japanese comics while stepping up the fight against manga piracy, Viz Media is releasing a free iPad app today that will allow consumers to purchase and download Viz Media manga titles. The Viz Media App will be available for download through the iTunes store and will launch offering five of Viz’s bestselling manga series selling for $4.99 per volume. For a limited time Viz will also offer volume one of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s bestselling manga Death Note for free download. The move immediately supplies digital editions of some of the most popular Japanese comics in the world at time when the Japanese comics industry has been accused of dragging its feet on digital delivery.
