Kieron Gillen Mutates To Write Uncanny X-Men

It's weird. I used to drink with them both down the pub of a Thursday evening, a Warren-Ellis-Forum-Then-The-V meet. Now Antony Johnston is co-writing Daredevil. And Kieron Gillen… is co-writing Uncanny X-Men.

Kieron Gillen Mutates To Write Uncanny X-MenThat's right folks, writing the series X-Men: Generation Hope just isn't enough for the Kenicke-lover. He's got to take on the comic industry's number one book and restore it to its former glory. Or, co-restore it at least. Oh and he's exclusive to Marvel now too – although it seems not to cover Avatar. On his blog, Kieron wrote

it's a fun something else which I suspect will cause the most communal eyebrow raises since… well, since I was put on Thor.

This is probably it. The PR states that;

Beginning with Uncanny X-Men #531, Fraction and Gillen pit the X-Men against what may be their greatest threat yet—the loss of their powers at the hands of the Sublime Corporation, as the malevolent force puts into action its master plan!

Well, if there's one person who'll try to align Sublime with That Which Endures, it's Kieron!

And naturally he paraphrases one of his favourite songs in the PR.

In the words of Ms. Knowles:' They liked it. They put a ring on it.'

It is one of your favourite songs, Kieron, you may not deny it.

Say, any chance of a return to Phonogram through Icon? Pretty please??

And Marvel? There's another chap we used to drink with called Nick Loki who would be perfect for Deathlok. Just ask Antony or Kieron…
