Monday Runaround – Plenty To Chew Over

Monday Runaround – Plenty To Chew OverNewsWatch: Steve Bissette gathers reportage on the arrest over the death of his friend Steve Perry.

Davis used Steve's ATM card (or tried to) to fleece whatever cash Steve had left — cash donations from me, you, fans of Steve's writing, fellow writers and the Hero Initiative — and disguised himself to do so. He did this either before disposing of Steve's head, legs, left arm and torso, or during that process.

GrudgeWatch: Is Albert Ching trying to whip up a San Diego fight between Mark Waid and Brian Bendis? No, probably not.

So, no, don't expect a catfight or royal rumble at the panel on July 24, but it'll probably be a noteworthy affair, chockablock full of discussion on the current state of superhero comics from some of the people best equipped to have such a talk.

BackWatch: The agony of Peter David and his recent medical procedures. Seriously, don't read if you are at all nervous about these kind of things. You'll end up squirming. Which, of course, is nothing compared to what David has been through.

Returning to the hospital was not an option; there was no way I could get down the stairs. Every single movement was laced with pain. The doctor's office assured me that the first 24 hours would be the worst and it would get better after that. By Monday it wasn't better.

HospitalWatch: The superhero medical comic book Midikidz has a new entry, according to the Sunday Mercury. Five-year-old William Milne, who has just undergone a bowel transplant, has been drawn by John Taddeo to appear in future issues.

The comic book story follows William after he refuses to take his medication. He is helped by five superheroes, who specialise in different organs, in Mediland – a living planet shaped like the human body. Through the adventure, William learns the importance of looking after himself, and about organ donation. His character reveals to other children how scary it is to wait for a transplant, and be constantly in and out of hospital.
