Thursday Runaround – The Bat Messiah Returns?

BatMessiahWatch: Image fron Night Beetle on the Superherohype boards, there.

DreckWatch: The New York Press has an odd start describing a Neil Gaiman reading.

Gaiman is of course, the dark wunderkind responsible for the Sandman, possibly the greatest comic book series ever, as well as Coraline, The Graveyard Book and American Gods. He's also the author of some horrible dreck (Anansi Boys is near unreadable) and a handful of classic short tales.

SmurfWatch with Doogie Howser;

strong>FableWatch: David Yates to direct a Fables movie?

IronWatch: War Machine in trouble?

A woman testified Tuesday that she suffered cuts to her right arm and hand in February when a man she later discovered was a professional fighter caused an altercation in a Point Loma bar. Jon Koppenhaver, who appeared on "The Ultimate Fighter" television show and legally changed his name to War Machine, has been charged with three counts of assault, stemming from the Feb. 28 incident and another at a Pacific Beach bar in March.

SoldierWatch: Josh Dysart interviewed by Eric Garrison on the end of Unknown Soldier.

If I'm being completely honest I think you're going to see a lot more density of the pulp elements than you did in previous archs; we've really worked hard in this series to submerge those elements and keep the series as grounded in reality as we can… considering that we're discussing a CIA programmed super soldier.And what you're going to see in these last 5 issues is a lot more of that brought up to the surface.

But I still think that we're going to see a complete ending. It's not the ending I would of ultimately liked to have done, but back in December I literally had a dream that we were canceled. And it wasn't a prophetic dream because our numbers were bad it was just kind of my unconscious waking me up, literally. I called my Editor and decided, before we ever got the cancellation notice, that we would start working on the ending. And so we devised a way to begin planting these elements that would allow us to wrap up if we had to in a quick manner, but still give us open enough spaces that we could put other stories in there.

That allowed us to do what we're hopefully going to be able to pull off in these next 5 issues. We even have a one-shot that takes up a lot of space, or real estate, as I like to call it. I think we're going to be able to pull this off.

StanLeeWatch:  Stan on the future of gaming. And calling himself Nostradamus.
