DC Thomson To Sack 350 From Comics/Magazine Printing House

DC Thomson are publishers of two of the longest standing comic books in the world, the weekly Beano and Dandy comics, publishing since the nineteen thirties.

But their future stands in doubt as DC Thomson prepares to close one of its printing houses, West Ward in Guthrie Street, months after investing four million pounds (seven million dollars) in printing processes there.

Such a move will see three hundred and fifty redundancies.  DC Thomson have stated "We remain fully committed to our newspapers, magazines and comics business" but sources expect to see a rationalisation of titles as they seek new printing options.
