From The Duty.

Film2ComicWatch: Variety have announced that Dark Horse and Hammer Films have teamed up for a number of projects. The first will be a comic by Marc Andreyko based on the Chloe Moretz-starring Let Me In remake of Let The Right One In.

PaniniWatch: Bleeding Cool has already written about the threat to Panini of the Marvel/Disney buyout and the recent move for Disney to take over Marvel foreign licensing. Especially when, in Italy, Panini publish Marvel titles, against an aggressive competitor in the market, Disney.

Spanish site Zona Negativa is now reporting that Panini has bought the Italian publishing rights to the Vertigo Crime line. This is an important move, as Planeta de Agostini currently holds the DC Italian comics rights. And this may be the first of a series of moves from Panini Italia to get as many DC rights under its belt in case its Marvel rights are taken away.

AssNotKickedWatch: As Kick Ass is released, the NY Post takes a look at New York’s real life superheroes. And discovered that, unlike the oh-so-realistic movie, they don’t manage to get beaten up. They just walk around feeding the homeless…

Occasionally, Dark Guardian gets an assist from two fellow superheroes, Chaim “Life” Lazaros, 25, and Ben Goldman, 23, a k a “Cameraman,” who has videotaped the Washington Square showdowns. The plucky pair also hands out food to the city’s homeless at least once a week.

TasselWatch: It’s Friday tonight. If you’re not lucky enough to get to the Avatar Friday Night Event with Max Brooks and George RR Martin, why not check out a little superhero burlesque, courtsy of the New Millenium Theatre Company in Chicago, with the Nerdlesque evening? Odds are that’s where the Avatar party will end up anyway…

SlowWatch: 1 Panel A Day, 366 Panels A Year… that’s how you make a comic!
