East End Boys And West End Girls Dressed As Zelda

londonmcmexpo

Press pass, check. Oyster card, check. Optimus Prime Ninja costume? Check.

Okay maybe 'll leave that at home. But hundreds of people won't. London MCM Expo, starting in an hour or two, is similar to Wizard World, but has arrived here in the opposite direction.

Originally a convention where you could get film and TV star autographs with a bit of cosplay and games, it has moved towards comics, increasing the amount of content and programming with every show, to the extent that Avatar is flying in for the weekend to join publishers like Markosia, Tokyo Pop, Ilex and guests including Andy Diggle, Tony Lee, Ben Templesmith, Antony Johnston, Frazer Irving, Jock, Alan Grant, Jacen Burrows, Paul Duffield, Gary Erskine, Jamie McKelvie, Si Spurrier, Gary Millidge, Bryan Talbot, oh stacks of people. And the Geek Syndicate folks too, bless. Add the likes of Tom Baker, Idris Alba, Craig Charles, a Losers panel, cast of Warehouse 13, True Blood, Merlin and more cosplay than San Diego, well, it should be a blast.

Set in the middle of the Docklands, it can be a bugger to get to but well worth the trip. Did I mention how much I liked Comic Cons?

(NB- I'm not being paid to attend this one, but I've got free entry. Tomorrow I'll bring the kids.)
