Ringing Up The Blackest Night Rings

ringsSince the initial announcement of the Blackest Night promotional plastic Lantern rings, a different colour tied into different issues of different series, DC Comics doubled the amount retailers were eligible to order. So getting the ring should be easier for customers.

But the game is still on. Obviously you should be able to get the ring of your choice if you purchase the accompanying comic book. But what if you say "screw you comics, I want my rings!", what then? Odds are that retailers will sell their spare rings in sets. But what will it set you back?

Well if you want them right now, you pay a premium. Pee Wee's Comics And Collectibles in California is asking $49.95 for all eight. Though Ultimate Comics is selling all eight on eBay for $23.50 plus $4.50 shipping.

If you're willing to drop the Blackest Night black ring giveaway from earlier in the year, and prepared to wait for November, Alternate Worlds has the seven for just $14.99 plus $4.99 postage and Midtown Comics are charging $12.99 plus postage for all eight.

But if you're spending $20 plus for the seven rings you need, that's about $3 a ring. For $3.99 you can get the ring and the comic that comes with it.

Would you really turn town a Blackest Night R.E.B.E.L.S #10 crossover comic for 99 cents? DC are banking you won't.

The real question is will you love it enough to buy R.E.B.E.L.S #11?

And will the as-yet-unannounced Deadpool Brown Ring count as part of the set?
