Saturday Stan Lee Day, Alcohol Free Night And An Unconventional Threesome

stanlee Apparently Long Beach and Los Angeles declared yesterday to be Stan Lee Day while Jeph Loeb read out the official proclamation. And all he had to do was open the Long Beach Comic Con with a pair of shears. Shame he didn't decide to cosplay as Edward Scissorhands while doing it though. Here's how the place is looking on video.

Birmingham International Comic Show's opening party didn't go down quite as well, initially hard to find as the bar has a literally invisible sign, unless it was read directly opposite, which is the kind of London media wankery you might expect, but not of Birmingham. There were scenes of comics pros just wandering around the vicinity wondering what the hell was going on. Then those who got in fell foul of the severest crime of a British party, lack of alcohol. with bar staff setting up late then realising there was no money in the tills.

One comics pro turned up for five minutes,. declared the party to be rubbish and left with an entourage to find somewhere else… verdict was that last year was better

Doors have just opened to the BICS con proper, and everyone seems dead excited, with Mid Ohio Comic Con also opening today. I dunno, you wait for ages then three cons come along at once. Anyway, here's something that RoboSteel are bringing along…
