Are Garry Trudeau, Lynn Johnston, Scott Hilburn, Mark Tatulli really trying to find their own competition?

Well, these comic strip creators are amongst the judges in a competition to find a new newspaper comic strip for Universal Press Syndicate, hosted by Amazon.

The winner will receive a publishing contract from sponsor Andrews McMeel Publishing, a $5,000 advance from Universal, and a monthly cheque to develop twenty comic strips to be considered for syndication.

Considered… not very definite is it?

Anyway you are invited to submit ten daily strips, two Sunday strips and a synopsis. Oh and a title.

PVP author Scott Kurtz kicked off the twittiscussion saying;

Jesus, here we go again. First Platinum, then Zuda, Now Universal/Amazon. WE ARE NOT CONTESTANTS!

Oh we are Scott. In the game of life…
