Secret Empire #8 has more high points than low, but it’s badly hindered by the mounds of padding. That said, it’s one of the best issues of the series.

I know he was miserable there, from many accounts and as covered by writer Mark Evanier here, but for me, Kamandi, The Demon, Mister Miracle, and anything Forth World stands up to everything the man ever did while at Marvel Comics I also enjoy just flipping through the book and admiring the work, this silly[...]
Pak and Buffagni are an excellent team on Generations: Banner Hulk & The Totally Awesome Hulk. But if you're new to the lore, it could be confusing.
Soule and Camuncoli’s 'Darth Vader' displays his fury, and his power. He is shown to be the ruthless yet layered character that he should always be.
The premise of Black Bolt #4 makes it an interesting addition to Marvel canon due to its relevance in one of its most oft-used villains.
In their gearing up for the next “non-reboot,” Marvel is releasing their Generation line of one-shots, wherein the new identity of some hero titles meets
Luke Cage: Second Chances is far from perfect, but it has a lot of heart. The pacing is good, the characters are relatable, and the action is awesome.
The Magneto Testament is a phenomenal piece of storytelling — haunting, emotional, beautiful, and one of the best pieces of comic book literature out there.
One upon a time, DC and Marvel Comics would run semi-regular crossover events Then Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada compared Paul Levitz and DC Comics' handling of Batman and Superman to a porn star who can't get it up in the New York press As a result, DC execs put pressure on Marvel execs to fire Quesada and[...]
Ta-Nehisi Coates once again proves that he was just about the perfect choice to take on Black Panther. Black Panther #16 easily earns its recommendation.
The plot is a little unfocused and most of it is spent in Sam Wilson’s headspace, but Sam Wilson: Captain America #24 still has some great moments.
Marvel Book Previews featured Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk, alongside a description of the characters. There were just one problem: it was the old descriptions.
If you’re interested in Secret Empire, The Mighty Captain Marvel #7 won’t give you much — but those here for Carol Danvers will not be disappointed.
Ultimates Squared is a fantastic comic, and this issue is one of the best. It has big ideas, a lot of action, and the art brings it all to life marvelously.
Doctor Strange #23, despite its stunning art, lacks the high stakes that make for a great story and the humor falls into the realm of outright annoying.
The Cup O' Joe panel has been a Marvel convention staple for years, but Joe Quesada's formerly newsworthy chat was lackluster and boring this year.
From Bleeding Cool reporter Joshua Stone:
Artists Keith Pollard and Ron Wilson were both honored for their lifetime of work within the comic book industry with the Inkpot Award at the start of the That 70s Panel on Saturday at Comic-Con International (SDCC).
Pollard is best known for his simultaneous work on the Marvel Comics titles The[...]
If the Inhumans are your jam, go for Royals #5. You’ll likely really enjoy it. If you have no interest in the Inhumans, I wouldn't run out to go grab this.
Thanks to the Bleeding Cool crew on the ground, we have video and pics from the Marvel Comics party, last night at San Diego Comic-Con, with performances from the Black Eyed Peas The band are in town to promote their upcoming graphic novel Masters Of The Sun — The Zombie Chronicles being published by Marvel[...]

Astonishing X-Men #1 is a fun, engaging read and has potential to be the best X-Men comic on the stands right now. Give it a read.
Marvel has released character posters for Black Bolt, Medusa, and Maximus from the much-anticipated ABC/IMAX Inhumans TV Show.
Even when it’s not giving you much new information, like in this issue, Black Panther And The Crew is still exciting and enthralling.
Jean Grey #4 succeeded in focusing on Jean’s personality and journey, despite the constant guest stars. Overall, a fun read.
The price is inexcusable and the story doesn’t bring much to the table, but I will recommend Uncanny Avengers #25 due to its stunning art and great humor.
In times like these, when every other Marvel book is tying into an underwhelming and overall depressing crossover story, Venom is a breath of fresh air.
it’s OK that we won’t get another Gwen Stacy moment. Marvel and DC publish more comics now. We have more variety in our superhero fare, and that’s great.
In a world of superhero drama in comics, what about the kids in the Marvel and DC universes that are still astonished by seeing men and women fly?
