Default Oh Look. The News Stand Edition Of Amazing Spider-Man #698 Had A Slightly Different Cover.

Here is the cover for Amazing Spider-Man #698 as sold in comic stores.

And here is the same comic, as bought on the newsstand.

The "Spider-Man" on the Fifty Years badge is rather shattered and worn away...

After Christmas duties today I rather feel the same.

UPDATE: Or is it the other way round?

Um, my direct market copy purchased from DCBS.com has the shattered logo. Along with the creator names which are missing from your first picture.

Ditto, I bought mine from FP in Edinburgh, and even mentioned the shattered logo in my review on the day it come out. Was yours not a digital copy, Rich?

...which seems only appropriate, all things considered.

Wait. They still release Marvel titles on newsstands? I haven't seen a Marvel comic at the local Chapters book store or Sobeys supermarket that used to carry them up until 8 or so months back (around the time Rich's story about Marvel reducing their newsstand presence hit).

    Have a good day.

We've never stopped releasing titles to newsstands. But it's not the huge market it once was.

Weird. They should all have the shattered logo.
