Default The Mask Is Slipping... The Death Of The Family (Spoilers)

Today, we get four Death Of The Family comics, Batman #15, Batgirl #15, Suicide Squad #15 and Batman And Robin #15. The latter gets a die cut cover but all feature confrontation with The Joker.

But the mask is starting to slip.

    ..

Tied on by a belt strap and twine, the Joker's reattached face isn't the most stable of masks. It drips and unravels a little in Batgirl...

In Batman there's a full blown rippage. Oh, and a conflict between fire and water, the givers and takers away of life...

In Batman And Robin it's hard to stay on, flapping around like Play-Do. But in Suicide Squad....

    It's Face Off!

I've no idea which order to read these in, someone will work out a timeline I'm sure. But I was surprised to find my favourite of all today's issues was Batman And Robin. Damian Vs The Joker, it's not surprising I suppose...

Comics courtesy of Orbital Comics, London.

You can read them in any order. They take place in certain time periods within the crossover, but aren't written to be read sequentially.

I'm getting all but Suicide Squad on my standing order, is that one worth picking up just for the crossover? I generally don't get all the tie ins unless there is good word of mouth.

It's pretty much there to show Harley's reaction to the whole thing, so I guess it matters how important that is to you. I generally like the book, but found the crossover stuff to be the least interesting part of the last issue.

I just knew we would get Images like this again and again, when I first saw the stapled on face, but no, so Snyder informed us: "It's not about the gruesome pictures or the shock factor."
No of course not, but you'll take those as well, if they are there, right?

Why wouldn't they? The fact that they are there doesn't change the fact that they're not the focus, as promised.

I disagree. It's a cheap stunt and it is in fact unnecessary by now to go for those in a good Joker story.
