    It's also a wire saw, not a garotting wire. I guess yoiu just got too giddy when you saw a *tee hee* condom and went wild with the imaginings...

    Well to be honest the condom is issued by various armed forces around the world for a hell of a lot more than safe-sex.

    A condom can be a great water carrying device.

    A condom can be used to keep water and junk out of the barrel of a rifle.

    Can be used as a make-shift glove, or a make-shift storage device for sensitive material (papers for example).

    Very useful little device.

    Hell, during WWI tampons were hard to get your hands on because they were issued to medics by the truck load. Think about it, highly absorbent sterilized padding? perfect wound dressing. A lot of soldiers still carry a few condoms and tampons in their kit, purchased out of their own money, they are small, lightweight, and sometimes better then the "purpose designed" military solution.
