I am bored at work and almost nobody is around, and frankly I don't want to talk about comics all the time anyway.
So what is everybody else doing?

Hi Joe ... I tried to create a couple of these threads way back when we actually had space to engage in them in a proper part of the forum ... alas ... little traction.
Good luck, though.

Yeah, I noticed my old one I created when the site started has been deleted.
I know this is a comics site, but I think it's actually a little too comics-centric. Maybe it would even be a little less hostile if we shared more of our experiences and interests. . . I don't know. Either way, it's worth a shot, I think.
That requires more meetups.
We might well have had the very first (organised) meet-up when I was in London last. Although I know a lot of fellows here know each other anyway.
Suffice to say, I do think that most of the subjects are covered by the various rooms and internal threads, conversationally. There's scope there to chat about stuff.
It just never really takes off.
I wanted a random thread, frankly, to just post completely random shit .... but that went the way of the dodo with the "other" room, I think.
I don't think that there's much call for a *thread* per se, perhaps just more willingness to engage on a level, in all of these back rooms.
Also, it would help if people worked on their ability to not get worked up about being right (or what they think is right) all the time ... that's usually where it all falls down.
Like I say, good luck.

I watched the first two and a half episodes of Red Dwarf, and I'm afraid I don't really like this show.
What's Red Dwarf? Prime Suspect is a well written show. Cop shows are a tired genre but this I like.
I started watching Dark Shadows a couple days ago, from when Barnabas joins the cast. I'm five episodes in and so far really liking it.
it does get better... or at least I think so... season 3 and up are better than the first couple.. but I'd suggest if you don't like the first season at all you're probably not gonna get enough out of it to bother continuing.
more on the "topic" at hand... I'm killing time before bed (been sorting stuff to sell and really don't feel like thinking about what sort of talk I might have to give at the staff meeting tomorrow morning... thankfully when you're talking about a new medication 2/3 of the time is taken up answering questions you would've gotten to if someone hadn't interrupted with a question... it does make the time go quickly though).

I just got home with my comics, but I haven't figured out if I have enough time to read some before I fall asleep. I'm pretty beat and have to get up earlier than I'd like to go play in my trivia league.
