Default Millar And McNiven's Nemesis To Be Announced (Properly This Time) On Friday

In other news, Mark Millar is gearing up for Friday's big Comic Book Resources interview over his new Marvel project with Steve McNiven, Nemesis.

Naturally I know nothing about it - except I'm told that Nemesis is the name of the title character.ª So no, Robot6, not Marvelman...

Mind you... it couldn't have anything to do with this could it? The computer game that Mark Millar wrote the characters' backstories for...?

From the wiki article on the game...the last sentence is interesting.

According to the October 2006 issue of Game Informer's 'Loose Talk' section, EA was planning to make a sequel to Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. Nihilistic Software would apparently not be involved, and instead the project would be handled by EA Chicago, the studio behind the Fight Night franchise and Def Jam: Icon. In an interview with IGN it was stated that the game is not a sequel to Marvel Nemesis and an entire new game, and it would feature Marvel characters (both heroes and villains) instead of new creations from EA. Marvel Nemesis: Armageddon was scheduled for its release on "next-generation" consoles in 2008.[1]

The game bombed both critically and commercially. The change of it being revisited is nil. Marvel dissolved their partnership with EA shortly after.

Millar did say that Nemesis was the characters name. That was one of the few hints he gave on his board.

I think EA owns the nemesis characters. The game kind of sucked. It made an attempt at a different kind of fighting game but it didn't work quite right.

I don't think Millar is going to brag about writing the backstory to a fighting game. Let's think about great fighting game stories. Tekken, Soul Caliber, Mortal Kombat. People wonder why the movies have low expectations story wise.

I just can't wait for YKWOTA to start having a conniption because announcing what the title will be about isn't "news."

That's because the game was both a critical and commercial flop. Millar tends to stop bragging about his projects once those said projects turn out to be both critical and commercial flops.

I didn't think about it really. I was hoping this was a safe thread but now that you remind me it was the initial thread about this that him and I went round and round. I have not posted in a while because of the situation with the forum.

Mystery Men is a very underated film

Captain Amazing: Well, we've always been each other's greatest nemesises... nemesisi... nemesi... what's the plural on that?

    Casanova Frankenstein: Nemeses.

    Captain Amazing: Whatever.
