First I want to thank Rich for finding the most awesome picture of me on the internet for this article. I look like I'm trying to inhale the Emerald City Comicon into my enormous ego machine of a body in hopes of forming an eighth chin.
The thing about me being a pioneer and "tastemaker" was sarcasm and hyperbole. I thought that was pretty obvious. I'm also a "knowledge worker" and "iconoclast" depending on which day you catch me.
I think that at this point, with me and Wizard professionalism is out the door. Everyone in the industry has a horror story about Wizard. I can't express how horribly we were treated when we exhibited at WW Texas one year.
We actually had a Wizard staffer laugh at as behind our backs after pretending to take care of an issue with our booth. I guess he thought he was out of sight. We also stood and watched a Wizard staffer taunt an entire queue of people waiting to get into the show. Just mocking them for having the audacity to like their local sports team which happens to be a rival of the staffers local sports team.
The bottom line is that when it comes to their conventions Wizard cares about one thing: What you can do for them. They care about you until your check clears and then fuck you.
So yeah. Professionalism is out the door with me when it comes to these guys, because they have never treated me professionally. Not even once.
Should have got the whole story before putting in, I can see were you coming from if you been shat on then its only just to sling some back, still I’m not sure posting it on site was a great idea, think you will get a split opinion on those who know what Wizard are like and guys like me (who don’t have a Scooby).
I still stand by my statement, PVP is good and I fear you anger ray.
My anger ray is a CGI effect that is actually quite harmless.
...Careful. That way lies Jay Leno
...On the other hand, if the Wizard g00ber was talking about the Dallas Cowboys, I have to defend him there. The Cowboys have been a total clusterfuck of a team since Jerry Jones bought the team and sent God...er, Tom Landry packing. I ceased being a Cowboys fan that day, and have never regretted it.We also stood and watched a Wizard staffer taunt an entire queue of people waiting to get into the show. Just mocking them for having the audacity to like their local sports team which happens to be a rival of the staffers local sports team.
