Default Teen Titans: Games - Everyone Cross Their Collective Fingers...

It's long been hoped that the previously-unpublished-and-once-thought-abandoned Teen Titans: Games graphic novel by Marv Wolfman and George Perez would be completed and published for next year. Because 2010 would be the 30th anniversary of the New Teen Titans comic by Wolfman and Perez.

Initially plotted by Marv Wolfman, with a number of pages drawn by George Perez and Al Vey in the late eighties, there have been a number of attempts to revive and complete the project. But George Perez appears to have been talking the possibility up at WizardWorld Chicago Comic Con. So how would this be achieved?

Perez has drawn at least seventy of the hundred-and-twenty planned pages (a number of which reprinted below), many of which were inked by Al Vey. I understand that Mike Perkins has been recruited to ink the uninked pages and to ink new pages that Perez is working on.

The graphic novel has not been scripted yet, and Marv would probably need a good couple of months on completion. Perez also talks at Chicago about created a new framing sequence to put the book in context.

This is not a definite scheduling, to be sure. But with Perez is working on pages right now, Wolfman happy to return to the project and Perkins on board, there's certainly a better chance of the book seeing publication now, than for quite some time...

Does anyone have an idea as to the the plot of this whole graphic novel? As much as "Games" is legendary, absolutely nothing plotwise has ever really leaked out.

As for a "wrap around" intro/ending, please God let it be one where we Judd Winnick's wholesale ruin of Jericho after Geoff Johns brought him back and redeemed him is completely undone via Wolfman negating Winnick's hack writing of Jericho as Winnick's evil Jericho being nothing more than a clone/Earth-3 Jericho.

Mike Perkins? I thought The Stand was keeping him busy for another few years--is he still completing the adaptation?

Putting a new framing sequence to put the story in context will be almost nightmarish. For some reason, DC has gone out of their way to re-do and revamp the Titans book approximately every 3 or 4 issues. It's like they're purposely trying to ruin it. I won't even discuss the mess that we call TITANS.

Personally, I think all the framing sequence they need - is a 1-page introduction written by Perez & Wolfman saying that this story happened during their era of Titans. Trying to fit it in context of what's happening now, there's no point to it.

Considering the current Teen Titans is shit ....ok whats worse than shit currently in comics ? Anyhow that book is in a bad way....this could help. But right now the Titans franchise has spring a leak for years and DC won't fix it at all.
