Default Great Punk Albums You Should Own

Post and describe some of your favorite punk albums. Classics please. No pop punk.

Stiff Little Fingers - Inflammable Material: This first album from the punk band from Northern Ireland came out in 1979 and focused mainly on songs about [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Troubles]The Troubles[/ame]. The album bears a lot of similarities to the Clash, in that it was musically competent and featured intelligent lyrics, not exactly a staple of the time period. The songs are catchy, but not in a poppy way, as the production is gritty and Jake Burn's vocals are delivered with an angry snarl. It also features a cover of Bob Marley's Johnny Was that's better than the original. This is one of five or six essential late 70s punk albums, in my opinion.

You probably don't know Titus Andronicus. Correct that at once: http://www.myspace.com/titusandronicus It's like Danny Johnston singing for the Sex Pistols.

A great and underappreciated album. I was delighted to discover this after I got Rebel Yell and liked it so much.

The Shape of Punk to Come is a fantastic record, so ahead of its time it's not even funny how much it gets badly ripped off by bands these days.

...Had the fortune to see GenX when they came through town in early 1978. One hell of a show!
