Default If I Can Read Emma Stone's Body Language Right, She's Telling A Fib About The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Everybody knows that old thing about how we try to hide lies by covering our mouths, and how the slightly more subtle version of this is the nose rub, right? And about how looking to the side is an indicator of lying or nervousness? And we can all recognise nervous laughter?

Watch this video of Emma Stone telling Hit Fix's Drew McWeeny that the script for the next Spider-Man movie is "so great."

She is of course a superb actress, so if anybody can tell me why she'd fake all of this just to try to make us believe the script is rubbish, I might buy it...

...he says, rubbing his nose, looking to the side and then giving in to a laugh.

Thanks to Stone, Andrew Garfield and several others on screen and off, the last film ended up playing rather better on screen than it would read on paper. Here's hoping that, should it really be necessary, that the same is true the next time around too.

Or maybe, like, I don't know, her nose itched and she scratched it?

Pish posh. When it comes to women, we're all liars. Didn't you get the memo?

I don't get all the hate the first movie got, though. Yes, Raimi's characterization was more accurate, but I couldn't get past seeing a cartoon with no regard for physics moving around in reality. The practical effects were warmly welcomed.

Edited for spelling. Next time I won't post when I've been drinking.

While something caught her eye to the side and then that same thing slipped on a banana peel?

No, really - you're trying to read something into absolutely nothing.

It just looked like an itchy nose to me, too. Nothing more, nothing less. And she seemed about as genuine as actors can be when they have to plug stuff.

Plus, most body language 'reading' is utter horseshit anyway (see 'reading something into nothing', above).

Slow news day? Or paid by the word?

She looks like she should get a few days sleep before approaching any more work!

How much worse than the first movie could the next one be?

And if you watch a lot of celebrity interviews, on late night shows and the like, many of them itch their noses often, because a lot of them are on coke

Watching a Lindsay Lohan interview is like watching someone with itching-nose turrets
