Default First Images Of Wang Xuequi In Iron Man 3, Chinese Shoot Starts Tomorrow

Marvel have announced that production on Iron Man 3 will pick up again on Monday for new scenes to be shot in Beijing. At the same time, they've revealed that Wang Xuequi has joined the cast as one Dr. Wu. I know Xuequi from Bodyguards and Assassins and Yellow Earth though he's had a pretty illustrious career back home, with Iron Man 3 being his Hollywood debut.

Some of Xuequi's stuff has apparently already been shot in the US, as you'll see in the first of these images that Marvel and their Chinese co-producers DMG have sent out.

I'm not aware of any Dr. Wu in the comics, though I do know a song about what he's going to do after getting struck off for misconduct.

I guess this probably takes place between the scene with Tony in surgery and him walking out of the hospital. I'd been assuming they were two separate scenes...and may still be...but for some reason seeing Paltrow/Pepper there lessens my worry they were going to give her an arc reactor.

Not that Paltrow couldn't pull it off, but whatever less of "The Five Nightmares" makes it into the film, the happier I am.

    George-bloody-Formby!

I have no idea how he became a staple of my youth, but there you go. Still need to find out if you can get his films on DVD for my Dad's birthday/Father's Day/Christmas presents.

My first instinct is he's playing the "actual" Mandarin ala Ra's in Batman Begins.

I doubt that. Making Chinese bad guys is a big no-no in Hollywood these days.

I thought Wang was rumored to be playing Radioactive Man? Though that always seemed a bit far fetched, what with the Simpsons jokes and all.
