Default Avengers Assemble 6 Film Blu-Ray Set At Bargain Price

When The Avengers, or Marvel Avengers Assemble, is released on DVD and Blu-ray in September, you'll have a multitude of purchasing options.

Perhaps the best value will be this 6-film set of Blu-rays, running from Iron Man to The Avengers. The current price for the UK box is ?39.97, or just over ?6.66 per film. The price of the beast.

On the downside? That these will all be single disc editions. And we don't yet know if they'll be region free, so importers without Region B capabilities might want to hold off, or go for the US equivalent - the 10 disc Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One Avengers Assembled Movie Collector's Set currently at $152.99, down from $219.00.

Again, it's not yet clear if those discs will be region free, so importers outside of the US should again be cautious.

The description on Amazon.uk says they're region free. And aren't all of Disney's blu-rays region free? (I may be wrong on that one)

I'm not picking this up as much as I want to. I already have the other movies (Thor/Cap in 3D) and I'm pretty sure that the discs won't come with cases. Disney likes to do that with their "boxed" sets.

Echoing Tralfaz, I doubt if this news would excite most readers of this site as we're already likely to have all but the Avengers movie.

They're including the Edward Norton Incredible Hulk? The Jon Snow of Avenger-related Marvel movies?

Good on them. At least some acknowledgement on their part that the movie existed.

I've been burned trusting Amazon before. Regarding Disney policy, they do tend to b region free, but it's not perfectly consistent.

I snapped up the UK Blu-Ray set on pre-order when it was £35 a week or so ago. That's less than an ill octopus for each movie. Not a bad deal by any stretch.
