Default Matt Kindt To Write The Marco Rudy Spider-Man Mini-Series

Last week we talked about an upcoming Spider-Man mini-series from Marvel drawn by Swamp Thing's Marco Rudy.

Well now I understand it is being written by Matt Kindt, who has recently been writing Frankenstein: Agent Of SHADE.

Marvel do seem to be using DC as a headhunting service right now. Only, without paying them or anything.

Kindt is better known for his graphic novels, Pistolwhip, Mephisto And The Empty Box, Pistolwhip 2, Two Sisters and the Eisner Award-winning Super Spy. Vertigo published his comic Revolver and Mind MGMT is currently being published by Dark Horse.

Marvel hires people working for DC, DC hires people working for Marvel, both are harvesting the creative pool of Image and the other Indie-publishers.
Is it really necessary to try to put a spin on everything?

Conflicting for me as a fan of his independent stuff. I hope DC & Marvel fans appreciate it.

Ah, but his independent stuff rolls on! I'm sure the check and name / brand inflation is nice. Does it add to his indie sales? Probably not a whole lot, but a few more here and a few more there and soon you have 'a following'.

He's just operating in the fine British Tabloid tradition. Hard to argue with success, lad! HARUMPH!

    Also, Happy New Year, gang!

Matt Kindt's MIND MGMT has been amazing.

Don't really care what he does with Spider-Man.

Wow, this is more blatantly anti-DC than usual, Rich.

Heaven forbid a creator work for two companies at the same time!

Both are great creators and I'm looking forward to what they can do at Marvel.

Kindt already has a following and has had one for quite some time. He's been working on his own books for years. They're good stuff and deserve all the praise they've received.

Matt Kindt's a great writer. Mind MGMT continues to blow my mind on a regular basis. Easily a comics highpoint of 2012.

If this is a $3.99 book, I'll wait for the trade. (Marvel price points are just silly. You'd think with a book as awesome as Hawkeye at $2.99 Marvel would take another look at their line). If it's a $2.99 book, I'm all over it - and will also probably pick up the trade later.
