Default Avenging Spider-Man #15.1 Hits Over $13 On eBay

We told you this would be a thing. That it would be underordered. And would be a speculator hit.

A day after publication, despite being a best selling comic, Avenging Spider-Man #15.1 has rocketed from $2.99 to selling copies on eBay for $11 plus shipping. with one copy currently on $13.50 with nine bids.

Amazing Spider-Man #700 in comparison is selling for just cover price, $7.99, although digital codes for the comic have sold for over $5 each.

Though if you want all the covers, including the rare limited variants, you're going to have to pay north of $600...

Yes, he should be proud of himself. Announcing a possible shortage of a book is a significant contribution to this website. (Sarcasm.)

It's nice to know that speculators are still dumb as hell.

WOW! Peter Parker is really Dr Octopus? Dr Octopus wants to be a hero instead of a villan? This all happens in an $8 comic? I have to get 10 of these books! Each one will be worth $100 a year from now right?

Oh, speculators. If you weren't so damn destructive, you'd be adorable.

I half doubt they even exist. You can see the bids on ebay, does anybody verify that the transaction actually takes place after?

Especially now with digital comics taking off, there's no artificial scarcity there and hopefully the speculator nonsense can fade away.

I'm sure 10 years from now, we will all be talking about what a landmark issue this was for the franchise, and how it was so much different from the normal gimmicks that last 18 months at most.

Of course AvSM 15.1 is sold out, it is the epilogue to ASM 700 that they couldn't just put in the damn book.

And people overpay for shit on eBay all the time.
