Default How To Make Marvel Hold The Line On $2.99

Did you buy a Marvel comic book today? A $3.99 one? Was it around twenty pages long? Did you get annoyed paying an extra dollar than you would have from DC Comics? Did you use the digital code you get free with the comic? No?

Then sell it. For a dollar.

It's not hard, people are doing it all the time. Get a template ready and do it for all your $3.99 Marvel comics.

You could sell yours for $1.04. $1.35. $1.50. Which means you could be holding the line on $2.49 instead.

People will pay for digital codes. Those who don't live near a comic shop, those who like their digital comics, but don't want to pay the full $3.99. And they'll pay a dollar, or more for your digital code.

And suddenly your print Marvel comic is back to the price of a decade ago. Bam.

Or I can wait till it's collected and get it in the library for free.

I'd prefer if Marvel would go the DC route and give people the option of buying with or without the code, AND have the digital-only version be $2.99.

So reward Marvel by buying their decompressed $3.99 comics. Good plan

Hell yeah! I just picked up the download code for the complete AvX on eBay for $16.49 - instead of paying $75 for the HC or $60 for the code.

There aren't a lot of them on eBay at the moment, but I've found a few and everyone wins.

I've traded a few codes (and I haven't bought many books that come with them), but getting an extra buck back seems like possibly a better option.

I might just spend my $3.99 (or UK equivalent) on something else instead and save myself the hassle.

Great idea. A better one would be if Marvel did this themselves: Sell the actual comic for $2.99 and the digital copy for $1.00.

I'm willing to bet the increase in sales (both print and digital) would surprise them.
ShadowMax prefers Valiant comics. The choice of the brave.
