That affected way she has of reading copy is mesmerizing. I can't help but imagine her talking dirty in the same inflections. (I'm not well.)

Totally agree on Consequences. It makes me wonder how great AVX could have been if Gillen wrote it.

Iron Man was good but not great. I've said before that I don't hate Greg Land's art as much as some people but I have to admit the repetitive nature of it is becoming distracting. The woman Tony's trying to pick up is blonde so she looks exactly like Emma Frost, the villain selling Extremis has white hair so he looks exactly like Magneto etc. It's getting annoying. Oh and Greg, please stop using that panel where a woman seductively places her pinky finger next to her mouth as she's smiling. You've used it a hundred thousand times already.

Agreed on Deadpool. I really like Brian Posehen and was looking forward to this but I don't think I even cracked a smile once when I read it. Hope it gets better

Okay. I gotta complain about the Before Watchmen comments Grace makes there. Well, counter argue them..

I still maintain that it is subpar for Watchmen and diluting the name and all those fun things. You say it's still the quality the industry needs. Actually.. I totally agree. I just don't think it belongs in a Before Watchmen series.. or that one even needs to exist.

Funny. I am pretty sure DC was relaunching their main books like Batman and Superman. Why not put this talent on those books?! Palmiotti and Connor on Catwoman? Cooke on an Golden Age JSA title? I just can't comprehend why DC thought this was a good idea and why they needed to toss a bunch of Watchmen books on the shelves when they are trying to relaunch DC proper.

And "a mainstream Vertigo line"?! UGH. Shouldn't that be.. ya know.. Vertigo?! Why the hell can Vertigo not be mainstream?! It's not some indie label Fantagraphics or even Oni. It's DC's mature readers imprint. There are great titles and creators working there. I'll still gladly pick up Vertigo books. The editorial department there is intelligent and respectable to creators. DC proper just disgusts me with the games they play. And their abduction of Vertigo staples that originated at DC back to DC worries me.

Of course, even with Marvel doing a relaunch / not a reboot thing, I can't be bothered. And certainly with Greg Land on art I can't get into even a well written Iron man book.

I'm not terribly familiar with Land's current work (except what I see here), but I have to say I was never exactly thrilled even back when he was really drawing. I just finished re-reading the O'Niel/Land Nightwing stuff and was struck anew with how much I really didn't like Land's art in those issues. I could see the possibility, but many of the figures, especially Dick, were just way too exaggerated for my taste.
