Default The Future Of The Marvel Universe Has A Black Republican American President

In the new issue of Daredevil: End Of Days out today, by Brian Bendis, Klaus Janson, and Bill Sienkiewicz, Ben Urich trudges the streets of a future Marvel Universe looking into the death of Daredevil, in a clear tribute to Citizen Kane. And we see Times Square with a very commercialised superhero landscape.

We also discover the politics of President Wilson... Always knew he was a Falcon, never took him for a Hawk.

There you go, people. Your first black Republican president.

Comics courtesy of Orbital Comics, London. Who are preparing to launch new issues of two of the best British Independent Comics anthologies ? The Strumpet and Ink+Paper.

    Falcon is a republican?

Or am I being racist assuming that a black guy called Wilson in a marvel future is Sam Wilson?

My friends looked at me in confusion when I proposed a character for a comic strip who was black / half-black and a die hard Republican. Then Herman Cain happened. Not to mention Michael Steele, but he didn't get noticed as much and I want to say he left.

Then again.. I think the more puzzling thing is that there is a Republican party in the future. Unless this is a Conservative Party. I think the Republicans really could split off with a Right Wing Capitalist Libertarian party and a Conservative Values Party.

I'd vote for him. He's probably against all those stupid solar panels that really don't produce enough electricity. Especially if you put them in Seattle.

Any chance of a namecheck for the artist there, Rich? Seems a shame to present such a beautiful piece of art and not give credit where it's due.

I think Sam Wilson is an odd choice for a Republican considering his history as a social worker. The Sam Wilson I read in the seventies was left of center.

Maybe the Red Skull got his hooks back into Sam and brainwashed him into running for President?
