    Default Walmart To Release Exclusive Avengers Season One Original Graphic Novel With DVD And Blu-Ray

    When Marvel released the Season One line of original graphic novels, the likes ofFantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men, Hulk and more, there was one franchise curiously missing. Where in the world was Avengers Season One?

    Turns out it exists, but is not being distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors, is not available digitally on ComiXology, is not even purchasable on Amazon. Not yet, anyway.

    It is being published exclusively for Walmart, and made available as a double pack with the Avengers movie on Blu Ray.

    Usually these kind of giveaways are mini-comics. This appears to be a full length original graphic novel, albeit from an unknown creative team.

    It's also available in the UK from Walmart owned Asda, which gives us the description for Avengers Season One;
    The all-new and exclusive graphic novel, modernising the formative first days of these super-hero icons that defined pop culture. A hidden foe manipulates the fledging Avengers from the shadows, meticulously sowing the seeds of discord and mistrust but only the smartest among them will see through the deception, and it's not who you think!

    Interesting. I wonder who the creative team will be. Might have a flick through if I see it in Asda.

    The cover only seems to feature those Avengers who have headlined their own Marvel movies. I wouldn't be surprised if the story features a couple more.

    I hate this kind of "retailer exclusive" shit.

    Hate it when it happens with CDs and now I guess I have to hate it with movies and comics.

    What a load of crap.

    Honestly, $25 for this and the film on Blu-Ray, the day it's released is kind of hard to turn down. I don't expect the film to be selling for less than $20 on Blu-Ray anywhere at any time before Christmas. I hope the creative team doesn't suck.

    The description sounds like it's supposed to be a modern take on the first few issues of the Lee/Kirby run. I'm guessing Ant-Man and the Wasp will be there, they just didn't include them on the cover since they weren't in the movie

    Sounds like a really good deal. I expect the OGN will be available on its own eventually, but that's a nice bargain.

    Thanks to everyone who contributed to my friend's Kickstarter campaign! He met his minimum for doing the project and got almost enough for his original budget, so it should be pretty close to his best vision for presenting thedocumentary. I appreciate all the help.

    How dare they try to get comics into the hands of a mainstream audience!
