Default Innoversal PixelQi Tablet - Kill the eInk!

    Huss.
    Suck it!

Seriously can't wait for these, the PixelQi screens are precisely what I've been waiting for and they're nearly here.

PixelQi (which I've mentioned before on Bleeding Cool) are a company that've developed a monitor tech that (when you bring the brightness right down) turns the screen reflective. Like a kindle.
This basically gives ANY LCD the chance to be a kindle.

If kindle weren't scared by the iPad, they might be scared by every single netbook/laptop getting something like this in the future.

Funny statements aside; the specs are a little on the weak side, I'd want something a little more powerful than an atom ... but we're looking good.

Suffice to say, it's the (weirdly named) NotionInk Adam that I'm really excited about, hopefully they'll switch to the new PixelQi displays.

    Will do.

I think that the current shindig over in asia will hopefully reveal something soon on the Adam.

Unfortunately from what I've read the Adam has been massively delayed now by quite a few factors (Flash being one, so I'm sure that's gone well)

Well, they're working on it, I think.
It's looking at an end of year release, I think.

I'm pretty sure that Lenovo and a couple of the big boys are producing things with PixelQi screens, so there will be much better than the Adam ... I reckon.

Well the guys making the PixelQi screens are planning on releasing them as DIY kits as well which could be interesting, I emailed asking for a dev kit about 6 months ago and never heard anything back unfortunately.

I get the feeling that this will be released as a product, perhaps under a separate coroporate banner.
I think that (at the core) they appear to be a tech company, concentrating on getting the basic tech done and manufactured (and updating other companies to their specs, too!). So they may create a subsidiary to handle this, as I'd imagine such a startup would require a lot of capital investment.
There's an awful lot of interest in them, I imagined that I had disposable income for a while and thought about investing!

I'm waiting until they float and I'll stick a bit of cash in

Apparently the guys behind it are just interested in improving tech, at the moment it's displays. They've found a way of doing what they do with minimal changes to production techniques, so if they can get enough corporate backers then they'll be laughing.
