    Default Sky+ USB Port

Does anyone ele here use the Sky satellite system and have the Sky+ decoder?

I've been told that the decoder has a USB port and I was wondering if that can be used to download recorded TV shows from the decoder's hard drive.

    Why not in Mexico City?

According to the Sky operator I talked to it is possible, but from what I've been reading online it's not. I'm trying to determine if the guy gave me the correct information or if he was making an assumption based on the presensce of the port.

I couldn't get any use out of mine with a USB key. IIRC it didn't even light up, so not sure the USB port was even capable of charging.

Again, if memory serves, the USB port was there for future possibilities to save on having to issue new boxes, so it's possible a firmware update might activate them at some point. For now, though, pretty sure they're disabled.

    That sucks.

I called Sky again to confirm and they told me the same thing. Basically the original salesman lied to me. I'm considering taking action against them since in order to sign up for the HD box they require a mandatory 18 month contract with a penalty for early cancelation.

They sold me the device under false pretenses.
