Trying to confuse younger people is always fun. Many is the time I've wished to put something in front of them and say: "This is a utensil called a pen, and this thin, wavy thing is called paper. Now, move the whole of your hand, with wrist action and write a message, with proper punctutation, grammar and no text speak."![]()
I love my iPod, as I love carrying my entire music collection with me everywhere. The Walkman was great for its time, though I personally preferred a boombox so I could inflict my music on others.

Many years ago I did a very bad thing...
My daughter, aged about 5 or 6, playing with a couple of her friends, saw me watching an old black and white episode of Doctor Who.
I had them convinced for several days that this was how the whole world used to appear to evryone, until we invented colour in the 1970's.
Not colour TV. Just colour...
Cheers.

...I dunno. Some people actually believed the BBC invented "colour" TV, if not Thames.

It does freak me out a bit that someday my daughter (who will be four next month) may ask me what a cassette is. This is the same kid who can work my iPhone (her Mom can't) and asked me the other day to burn a CD for.
...And on *that* note:
Cheap Trick? The 8-track is back
Cassette players are better than cd players because they don't skip.
Cassette players are better than digital players because you can break/lose one and be out less than the price of a good meal.
That said, making mix tapes gave you a very intimate, but also a very introverted connection to your music, especially if the tape was to make someone else like the music you do/open their mind.
