Default IDW Launches Mars Attacks Honey Boo Boo Mini-Series?

It was an aside in an NYCC report from Bleeding Cool . I thought it may have been a gag. But if so, they repeated it yesterday.

Announced at the Long Beach Comic Con IDW panel yesterday, from February, IDW will publish a Mars Attacks Honey Boo Boo mini-series.

If it is still a joke, please for the love of all that is holy, IDW, stop repeating it!

For those non-Americans who have been spared... you may sacrifice your soul here.

Thanks to Kraig Rasmussen who attended LBCC for Bleeding Cool.

Wow. I may never buy another IDW title again.

I've avoided that plague for the longest time, with the closest interaction being from the South Park episode, and now someone willingly wants to bring it to my comic books? Uncool.

I feel bad for imagining all the ways these characters can be put out of my misery in this comic. What happened? How did IDW beat Blue Water to the rights? Where is the Palin/Mars Attacks mini?

What's this about Honey Boo-Boo starring in a Firefly reboot?

Mars Attacks in comics form have been used as a form of social parody to varying degrees of success over the years. If they are just going after the idea and thought of the show, I cannot say it isn't ripe for amusement and fun to see those reality show train wrecks get some well deserved abuse.
However if it is some officially licensed crap that lines the pockets of the actual reality show or participants, then I would advise IDW against it because it will effect my future purchases from them for some time.

Sad part is, I'm a Mars Attacks fan. I hope this isn't for real!

I'll probably buy it if they take her off the air.

I got really baked one night and watched the first episode of Honey Boo Boo. It's kind of fascinating in a car wreck kind of way. I would buy this book in an instant.
