Default Prized Possessions of the Nerd Herd...

OK... what do you actually own that achieves that essential synthesis of geekocity that evokes absolutely equal responses of 'cool' and 'sad bastard'?

I'm both proud and ashamed to admit to having this little sucker sat in front of me:

    Cheers.

the missus thought i was mad for getting this.

but fuck it, i'm a huge fan of the films and wanted it. i'm thinking of mounting it over the toilet.

or purchasing a delorean to put it in.

    the toilet seems more feasible.
    kneel.

Definitely a prime example of what we're after! Brilliant!

(Hmmm... extra points for having a DeLorean in the garden that is a toilet...?)

    Cheers!

    Is this "geeky" enough?

In my case it's more what DON'T I have. This is just one of the "displays" in my apartment. And yes, that is a Freddy glove and V alien figure both signed by Robert Englund!

I'm honestly ambivalent on this one.. I can see people saying "cool" or people saying "sad", I'm just not sure about people saying both simultaneously...

    What do others think?

('Sad' in this context is a very British thing that may not translate exactly... it's kind of like calling someone 'loser' but with genuinely huge affection...)

    Cheers

It hangs proudly in my computer room in all it's 27" diameter glory. It's even got leather straps on the back so you can carry it.

Hidden in the words following those?

Assuming we dignify it by calling it a point.

I'm curious about the things we have that engender both responses at the same time.. something that part of your brain is saying "what a piece of junk" but the other part of your brain is saying "I want one of those"

SFX magazine over here occasionally does a page of ads for stuff it calls "objets d'arse"; stuff that you want, even though you know you shouldn't want it...

    Cheers.
