    Default Action Figure Thread

I know I'm not the only one out there who collects them. Just wanted to start a thread to talk about it. To start off I found this at another place. A line of the Indy Jones that'll never see the light of day alas. Pisses me off though. Cause these where the figures I was waiting for.

I used to be huge into Heroclix, so I still have a lot of those left over. They're not the nicest sculpts and paint and all, but they're neat and more of a reminder of what once was. Ha.

I've been considering getting some action figures lately, but space and budget issues don't really agree with me. I kind of have a hard time spending money on things that "do nothing", but I'd like to get a few of the nicer sets I've seen.

Um ThrillHouse.. they never canceled that Marvel Legends series. IT'S OUT THERE. But it's Wallmart Exclusive. Which means.. well.. like the DCUC Metallo series you're gonna pay an arm and leg for it. I'm sorry man.

I don't have a lot of those, but my favorite ones are the Elseworlds Batman figs. I bought quite a while ago. They're the Crimson Mist Batman and Batmankoff from Superman: Red Son (which I consider to be a badass among badasses).

...I remember the big stink over the "exclusive" Galactus Heroclix figure at SDCC, where they reportedly showed up with only a few of the figures and the demand was easily a hundred times the supply. A lot of people who had the required coupons or armbands - can't remember which - who should have gotten them got screwed over, and Heroclix refused to make any sort of amends, much less make additional figures available. They lost quite a few customers that day, and the bad rep they picked up was noticeable with sales dropping immediately after that PR blunder.

Future Fury File figures (the remaining winners via that poll from awhile back that MJ, Archangel, Mystique, and Havok won):

Madrox, Lady Bullseye, and Warpath (X-Force)

I'm a big action figure fan. Though I've found I've reached my limit on buying entire series of figures, like the DC and Marvel Legends. (It really didn't help that Marvel stopped selling them, and that Target still has series 4 of DC Legends)

Plus I was really disapointed with Big Barda. How can you have Comic's tallest woman be shorter than her husband? They had to know people where going to put them both together.

The best figures they came out with as of late is Booster Gold and Blue Beetle - both of those figures are great. Flash and Kid Flash too. Captain Cold couldn't hold his cold gun, which really stunk, but I was able to fix it with my older DC Direct Captain Cold figure, and gave the new figure his gun. (Fit's like a glove)

I was also very much into Transformers Animated figures. But the cancelation of the series really deflated all the excitement about it. Great figures though.

Oh - and I've also been collecting the robots from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (Japanese Power Rangers) I got Shinken-Oh (the giant robot) and am slowly buying the armorment toys to do with it. But it takes a long while - they have to ship all the way from Japan.

Only not really, since those have yet to come anywhere close to anything that even rhymes with Walmart at this point. The only place they've turned up is websites in Canada.
