Default Classic Marvel Figurine Collection - DC Superhero Collection

does anyone else around here collect these buggers? Both Marvel and DC branches are bleeding my budget to death. But boy do they make great looking displays !!!

the Marvel collection is going to be at least 140 figurines (extention pending, but it is almost certain we'll get to 160 soon) and the DC branch is going strong as well.

Personaly i am "cherry-picking" the DC figurines because i am not such a big fan of the DCU and i am not interested in all of them. I also do the same for Marvel when they go too far on the weird-o-meter (incredible man) or i am just not into the certain character (Winter Soldier,Deathlock).

So ... what's you favourite figurine? Any character in particular you want to be made in the future?

i am eagerly expecting Alan Scott ... the only JSA character i am trully looking forward.

Poison Ivy doesn't look shabby either

I've picked up most of the Marvel X-Men/X-Men related ones, plus a handful of the others - Daredevil, Black Widow, Black Panther, Captain Britain, Dr Strange, Dormammu and Iron Man.

I guess my favourite would be either the red & gold Iron Man or the Kitty & Lockheed one, though I did get a customised Havok in the old black and white circles costume that's pretty cool...

    Cheers

This collection is growing faster and better month after month. We are now 5 years into it and we are still getting characters like Banshee or Madrox, along with some fugurines that no collection would have thought of including (like Detective Chimp in the DC branch is confirmed to be made).

I've been tempted by a couple but never picked them up. That Riddler one looks pretty good and I don't really have any good figures of him.

Meanwhile, I find it funny that these things are solicited in the magazine section and not with other figures because they come with a small book about the character.

as if anyone reads those mags ....

and do pick up that Riddler fig. He is one of the best in the collection. But i warn you .. they are a bit addictive and if you pick one you'll probably end up with lots more over a few months time.

It's worth flicking through the mags. Occasionally the writers get bored and start taking subtle digs at some of the characters...

Batman is still the only DC figure I've picked up, just because that was such a cool figure. Mind you, I haven't relly looked at any of the others recently. I know I'm a weak willed man...

Oh, and FWIW, here's customised Havok:

(Based on the Marvel Iceman figure)

    Cheers

the Marvel mags are far better than the DC ones, who look more serious but it doesn't do them any good if you ask me.

they are exactly for what you said ... a quick flick through.

as for the DC figs .... i am not a DC fan in general but those figurines are top notch. If you forget some scaling issues they have (Supes is like a midget next to Guy Gardner and Gorilla Grodd is bigger than Darkseid) the sculpts are superb.

Hawkman is probably the best DC fig we got so far.
