Default Poster For The Last Exorcism Part II Is Kinda Goofy

Apparently, The Last Exorcism sequel has ditched the Beginning of the End subtitle and will now be simply suffixed with a plain Part II.

I expect a trailer for the film is imminent as the first poster has just been released - and, even more tellingly, if you use the tweet button on the official site, your auto-tweet mentions a trailer in it. Midnight tonight PST? Doesn't seem impossible.

Here's the poster, courtesy of Yahoo.

That's right - they've taken the body-bending of the first film and made a 2 design from it. I think it's supposed to be funny and creepy at once.

I'm curious about this sequel. I still feel pretty passionately about the first film. I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say once I've seen the trailer.

Now do they have to change the name of the first one to "The Second To Last Exorcism"?

No film about exorcism will ever be able to surpass THE EXORCIST.

I don't know why they keep making these goofy knockoffs.

I thought the first film was brilliant, unfairly hated on, and underrated.

I thought the first one was solid, up until the very end. I thought that was goofy. And I do think that poster is kind of terrible. Just looks like a parody poster of an exorcism movie to me.

Wait.. why is there a sequel? I am not a fan of fake found footage films, but I was pleasently surprised the morning I went to see it on a whim when a friend canceled out on seeing Machete. It was an interesing twist on an excorcist movie. A fraudulent but still decent minded exorcist as the lead was interesting lead character. Yet I dunno if he really survived that ending. I know an athiest / agnostic friend hated the ending implying a real demon, but I dug the almost Lovecaftian end. Anyway.. I dunno where the story could go or why it needed a sequel.

    Huh.
Wonder if '62' is a viable position...

I loved the first one....until they turned the car around. Then I despised it.

Also I opened this up at the theater earlier and totally didn't notice her body was making a 2. Woah.
Can someone ask Grant Morrison to give me a haircut?

    OMG, that one-sheet is HYSTERICAL!!

Did the marketing team think this was a satire? Is the corpse of Leslie Nielsen in it?

    It reminds me of this:
A Horror tale you won't soon forget:
Mephistopolis: City of the Curséd Souls and Abandoned Hope
NOW THE ABOVE LINK ACTUALLY WORKS! (sigh)
(in ePub format, so it works on ALL devices & has an AWESOME cover by horror artist D'wayne Murphy)
