Default Godzilla First Look - One Solitary Image From The Comic-Con Footage - REMOVED

Monsters director Gareth Edwards is still in pre-production on his do-over of Godzilla but a rather striking trailer premiered at Comic-Con in the summer, comprised of specially created material.

We were told at the time that this was Con exclusive footage, and I resigned myself to never seeing it again, or at least not until the Blu-ray was published, but overnight, one teasing still image popped up.

IMAGE AND LINK REMOVED AT REQUEST OF LEGENDARY PICTURES

You can read my account of the Comic-Con footage to put the image into context but if you know anything about Godzilla, you can use your imagination.

Edwards' film is set for release in May 2014. The script has recently had a rewrite by Drew Pearce and we'll likely start hearing about casting any minute now...

Rereading your comic conc footage description.. they're doing a gritty 'realistic' Dark Knight verion of Godzilla? Eh. This kinda works.. as the original Japanese film was pretty damn serious and the horrid last US remake sufdered drom terrible Hollywood goofiness in the hands of Devln and Emmerich. So as much as I hate the Hollywood trend of a Nolan Dark Knight gritty pseudo-real reboot.. it actually works in this case. Though I did love some of the over the top goofiness of Final Wars and others... a serious reboot for a creature spawned by the horror of the atomic hombs dropped on Japan seems fitting.

    “there’s nothing sci-fi about it.”

then i cant imagine a more boring and pointless movie about giant radioactive monsters that hit each other in the face.

    whats the damn point then?
