Default More Pacific Rim - This Time, The Russian Jaeger Cherno Alpha

The Pacific Rim mission to save us from the interdimensional Kaiju is going to be an international affair.

Here's the "leaked J-Tech blueprint" for Cherno Alpha, a Russian Jaeger. Click through to see it at full scale.

Compare that to the Gipsy Danger design from earlier.

And as a bonus, here's another document, this time courtesy of Allocine.

When will this marketing madness end? I love you, Guillermo, but we might have to go into "daily round-up" mode if it carries on for too long.

Default Test of the Kaiju Evergency Alert System

There is also this Test of the Kaiju Emergency Alert System on Youtube: Test of the Kaiju Emergency Alert System - YouTube

It has the same dove and star symbol shown on the Jaegar blueprints, so it must be from the movie.

Slightly more interesting design than the first mech they showed. But still pretty basic. It really feels like they only ever took one pass at these.

There isn't that much interesting stuff/valuable info in the letter but if anyone is interested I can try and translate it tonight?

I like this reactor-headed one best.

And people criticizing the designs as generic or uninspired - they're not re-inventing the wheel, but they are pleasing to the eye and each has a distinctive silhouette so you can tell them apart, as opposed to, say, Bay's Transformers, which are perfect examples of over-design gone horribly wrong. Damn you, Michael Bay.
