Brad Bird thirded! But I'll second Lynch, too, just for good measure.

So is Tarantino going to return all those checks Disney signed to him while they ran Miramax and released Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Four Rooms, From Dusk till Dawn and Kill Bill? Or does he want to distance himself from those "Simon West" films as well?
Call Kevin Smith. I want a Jay & Silent Bob cameo.
Unless they already have a secret deal, I'd guess Brad Bird would be too busy to get this movie out in the time they want it finished. Tarantino would be cool, especially if he's interested in exploring different genres like he has been lately. I wouldn't want him to script it though.
And Simon West isn't so bad. He did Con Air.
Unless he meant Simon Wells, in which case I think Mars Needs Moms gets some unjust crap tossed its way by people who probably never saw it. I thought it was decent. He'd probably be perfectly serviceable.
I want to see Tarantino make a Star Wars film. I don't want to watch that film, because I find his films tedious, but I want him to be able to make one. And Michael Bay. And Tyler Perry. And John Waters. And the Coen brothers. And Wes Anderson. And Woody Allen. And Pedro Almodóvar. And the Wachowski siblings. And Ridley Scott. And Joss Whedon. And M.Night Shyamalan. And Terry Gilliam. And James Cameron. And Kirk Cameron. And Rob Reiner. And Ron Howard. And Richard Curtis. And J.J. Abrams. And the Hughes brothers. And Ken Burns. And Nia Vardalos. And Chris Columbus. And Merchant Ivory. And Kevin Smith. And Adam Sandler. And Lasse Hallström. And Judd Apatow. And Clint Eastwood. And Ben Affleck. And Bob Goldthwait. And Nora Ephron. And Roman Polansky. And Sofia Coppola. And Spike Lee.
Some of these would be trainwrecks. Some would be brilliant. Some would be... meh. And probably most of the filmmakers wouldn't be interested. But just think of the creativity opportunity that would exist if Star Wars – which under early 19th century US law would be in the public domain by now – was not artificially constrained by copyright!
